About Why We Do What We Do:

AID was started in South Africa to keep alive the memory of a precious pet and best friend, Goofy. Goofy was a one eyed, mixed Maltese poodle who passed away from kidney failure at 10 years old. His owner and now advocate for animal shelters Annie Bailey has done tons and tons to help the 'voiceless' have a voice. Donations, countless energy and spreading the news on missing animals and rehoming creatures of all sizes has inspired Annie to keep moving forward to help any and every animal in dire need...

AID Ireland was started not only to globalize the name of Goofy, but to spread the awareness of how many cats go missing. AID Ireland was started and joined with AID South Africa, because one of  their own, Simon went missing. Simon has yet to be found and the prayers and  search will continue until his safe return to his Hooman owner Marion. The need to push forward for the neutering and microchipping of animals are of great importance and we need to fight so that every pet owner has this done, especially cat owners. A huge amount of cats have been going missing in Ireland for countless years. Creating an over population of ferial cats all over Ireland. We are hoping that creating awareness helps rehome cats (and stray dogs) for a better future of all animals in dire need.
